The Green Regime Leaves Bliss By Herself; Is Tiffany Biting Off More Than She Can Chew?

Friday Night SmackDown rolled into the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts this week for another night of blue brand action.

We start things off with Byron Saxton, who was backstage with Chelsea Green and The Secret Hervice. As Piper Niven ransacked the suit of Saxton, Green was asked how she, Niven, and Alba Fyre got to the point that Piper had a match with Alexa Bliss tonight. Green replied with snark, saying that she bravely broke up a “silly little birthday celebration” last week and then took a Funfetti cake straight to the face, which she claims could have severely injured her. Niven adds that it was disgusting, and that no one messes with their “Canadian hero” and gets away with it. Fyre then chimes in to say that tonight, Niven will take out Bliss, and the Secret Hervice will confiscate the Women’s Tag Team Championships, held by Bliss and Charlotte Flair.

The match between Niven and Bliss soon followed, with their respective partners in their corners. Niven would start right away with several kicks, which would lead Bliss to fight back with several punches to the face. Green and Fyre would try to steal the Lilly doll, but Flair would walk in their direction, putting a stop to that plan. Niven would soon gain control before the commercial break by hitting a slam onto the mat. Once the show returned, the tides had shifted in the favor of Bliss, who unleashed a rapid flurry of offense, but failed to put the Scottish female away.

The end of the match came as Bliss went up to the top turnbuckle, but Green would get up on the ring apron to try and distract her, only to be thwarted by Flair. When Fyre tried to interfere, all it took was a slap from Bliss to fall off the apron like she had just fainted. This led to Niven being slammed head-first into the turnbuckle, with Bliss rolling her up for the victory.

Fyre and Niven would attack Bliss, but Flair was quick to help her partner out, chopping the chests of Fyre and Green. Niven would then hit a senton on Flair, sending her out of the ring where Green would throw The Queen face-first onto the ring post and into the timekeeper’s area. With Bliss all alone now, Fyre would execute a Gory bomb while Niven used all her weight to come crashing down on Five Feet of Fury. The three women then proudly saluted as the Green Regime has made their intentions clear in a destructive way: they are after the Women’s Tag Team Championships.

The WWE Women’s Champion, Tiffany Stratton was seen having an argument backstage with Jade Cargill as Nick Aldis was stuck in the middle of it. Cargill said that everyone knew she had Stratton beat at SummerSlam, while the Buff Barbie complained that The Storm already had her shot and had lost it by coming up short in said match. Although Team Blue’s head honcho understood the feelings of both women, in came Nia Jax, who stated that she doesn’t know why Cargill is asking for a rematch when she won Queen of the Ring and didn’t have what it took to become champion, unlike her, telling her to fall back while she takes care of “Miss Tiffy” and the “fluke” of a title reign that she’s having. Cargill retorts and says that she falls back for no one. Stratton, meanwhile, tells Jax what she said to Cargill last week: the story may be different, but the outcome will always be the same, and if she has to prove it to the Irresistible Force before she proves it to Cargill, tells her to bring it before walking away. Aldis looks at both Cargill and Jax to end the segment.

This wouldn’t be the last time Stratton was seen on the show. The show’s second hour started with another backstage interaction, this time with Kiana James. James said she couldn’t help but notice that Jade and Nia were trying to lock in yet another opportunity at the Women’s Championship, but it won’t stop there. James tells Stratton that the longer she’s champion, the more her market value goes up, but so does the list of competitors that are after her, and advises the champ to get some backup, of which there is no better than her and her client, Giulia, but the Women’s United States Champion is too big of a star to be dotting I’s and crossing T’s.

Continuing to promote herself, James reminds Stratton that she offers more than just protection. She offers upgrades and brand expansion, such as having a custom pink championship around her waist, thinking that the title should match the woman holding it. James hands her a calling card, the same one she offered to Jade last week, but Stratton says she’s already the champion and doesn’t need backup. James says that’s fine, but if she’s not with her and The Beautiful Madness, she’s against them; she understands that Stratton is undefeated, but that’s because she’s never had to defeat someone like Giulia, and just because she has a title does not mean she can’t take hers.

Stratton walks off, but in walks Michin, who confronts James and says she’s getting ahead of herself. If she would have answered any of Michin’s calls, she would have known that she has Giulia next. James retorts and says that it will be under advisement, before she also walks away.

Note: If you saw closely, Nikki Cross was rocking back and forth inside of a production truck during this segment. No clue what that might mean in terms of Cross or The Wyatt Sicks being involved in the women’s division.

B-Fab and Candice LeRae accompanied their respective teams, The Street Profits and #DIY, during their tag team match. As Angelo Dawkins ran towards Tomasso Ciampa at ringside, he would hide behind LeRae, who got in between the two in order to avoid Ciampa getting attacked. Ciampa would run back into the ring, and helped Johnny Gargano, who was waiting for a tag, to kick Dawkins, who was still on the outside. The Poison Pixie would then clap with them on the ring apron, telling Gargano and Ciampa “good job” as the show went to commercials. Later on, as the Profits geared up to perform the Doomsday Blockbuster, LeRae would throw B-Fab into the steel steps. This would help her team gain the advantage, before later performing a rana off the apron on Montez Ford, sending him into Dawkins at ringside. The Fab Female would soon avenge her attack, by kicking LeRae onto the floor. The Profits would gain back their momentum afterwards, ultimately winning the match.

Friday Night SmackDown will air next week from the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland. As of this writing, no women’s matches or segments are currently advertised.
