On August 18, 2025, WWE NXT delivered a loaded show as the march to NXT Heatwave hit its final stride. With cross-promotional chaos from TNA’s Elegance Brand, Jordynne Grace standing face-to-face with Blake Monroe, and Ethan Page & Chelsea Green attempting a questionable “peace treaty” with Tavion Heights & Tyra Mae Steele, this week’s episode stacked plenty of story beats ahead of Sunday’s big event.
Women’s action opened with The Elegance Brand’s interrupting GM Ava to object to Masha Slamovich serving as special referee in their upcoming six-woman tag match tonight. He claimed she lacked experience. Ava shut it down immediately. Masha walked in wearing the stripes, already prepared for her role. Needless to say, The Elegance Brand were not thrilled.
Back from break, Jordynne Grace made her way to the ring. On the mic, she admitted her NXT run hasn’t lived up to expectations. Despite her global resume, championships haven’t come easy here. She spoke openly about insecurities and friendships turning into setbacks, calling it one of the hardest adjustments of her 15-year career.
Grace vowed she doesn’t want revenge, she wants Blake Monroe to look at herself in the mirror. That’s when Blake arrived with security. She pulled out a contract: if Grace so much as touched her before Heatwave, the match would be canceled.
Blake claimed Grace feels sorry for herself, but Grace countered by saying Blake is jealous. Jordynne pointed out Evolution, where Grace wrestled as a main character while Blake lingered at ringside. A “Blake is jealous” chant broke out. Grace called Blake a snake, prompting Blake to call her pathetic.
When Grace stepped forward, Blake egged her on to strike. Instead, Grace decimated all of Blake’s security team, proving her point without voiding the match. Grabbing Blake’s wrist, Grace promised to show her at Heatwave what “ugly” really looks like. Strong segment that made their rivalry feel personal.
Fatal Influence weren’t impressed with The Elegance Brand being hailed as “the most prominent brand.” Jacy Jayne, Lainey, Sol Ruca, and Zaria all exchanged verbal jabs that nearly escalated before Sol cut it off, promising Jacy’s reign as double champion ends on Sunday.
The Elegance Brand vs. Fatal Influence
The six-woman tag kicked off with Fallon Henley locking up against “M.” Fallon hit an early flurry including a splash in the corner, but M countered into strikes and tagged Heather. Quick tags followed until Ash tried for a Jaded, only for Nyx to counter into a roll-up.
The pace picked up as Ash and Jacy squared off with some one-count roll-ups and trash talk. Fallon hit a basement clothesline for two before the Concierge tripped her at ringside—leading to his ejection by referee Masha Slamovich right before the break.
Back from commercial, Ash kept control until Fallon avoided Heather’s moonsault and tagged Jacy. Jayne exploded with a hot tag: neckbreaker to Heather, cannonball to M, middle-rope senton for two.
Momentum swung wildly as Fatal Influence hit a double electric chair facebuster, only for Ash to save the match. The chaos built with multiple saves and near-falls. Ultimately, Jacy tagged back in and nailed the Rolling Encore for the pin.
Winner: Fatal Influence
Charlie Dempsey offered backhanded encouragement to Kendal Grey after her loss last week, but Grey bristled. Wren stepped in to back her up as The Culling’s Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley arrived to taunt TQCC. Dempsey fired back, claiming Wren could beat both Izzi and Tatum two-on-one, to which Izzi noted the two were a lost cause.
Ethan Page and Chelsea Green made their “diplomatic” entrance for a peace treaty with Tavion Heights & Tyra Mae Steele. A USA chant broke out before Page ran down Tavion, accusing him of disrespecting veterans and aiming too high too fast. Tavion fired back, promising he’s built for greatness and not afraid of Ethan.
Chelsea chimed in with smug Canadian superiority while Tyra shut her down, reminding her of actual gold medal status. When the back-and-forth got heated, Ava cut through the noise: at Heatwave, it will be a mixed tag.
Ethan and Chelsea tried a cheap shot, but Tavion and Tyra reversed into ankle locks before The Secret Hervice pulled them to safety.
Kelani Jordan and Lola Vice traded friendly words before Lash Legend arrived to stir things up. Lash reminded Kelani that, win or lose, she’s always the biggest threat in the division. Tension carried into Heatwave build.
NXT closed out the go-home episode with clear direction. Heatwave is fully loaded, now it’s all about who delivers when the lights are brightest. Leave your comments below and on a side note, don’t forget to send in your nominations for this round of the Flawless Faceoff: Women’s Evolution Era!
