The Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch is doing everything she can to shield her husband from the wrath of CM Punk.
At Clash in Paris on Sunday, Lynch hit Punk with a low blow during the Fatal Four Way main event for the World Heavyweight Title. As a result, her husband Seth Rollins, retained the championship. Continuing in Paris, On the Sept. 1 episode of Raw, Punk called out the man, but got The Man instead.
Lynch came out to Rollins music to taunt Punk…adding more insult to Punk’s recent luck. Lynch says she was tired of Punk coming after her husband, after her family. She also aired out her decade old vendetta against Punk for fans chanting his name during her matches instead of chanting for her.
Punk says that Rollins is a coward and he hides behind all the members of The Vision and now he is hiding behind his wife. Rollins did come out on stage and told Punk to come and say what he had to say to his face, however, Lynch wouldn’t let Punk out of the ring in time for Rollins to sneak back to the back.
During this segment, the crowd chanted multiple times for AJ Lee. Lynch was quick to bark back that Lee is not an employee and does not work here. After Rollins went to the back, Lynch started getting physical by slapping and punching Punk. Punk would eventually head out of the ring and up the ramp. However, just before this, he told Lynch that Rollins is going to regret cashing in on him and Lynch is going to regret putting her hands on him. Lynch continued to verbally assault Punk as he went up the ramp and the segmenr ended.
A tag team match took place where The Kabuki Warriors took on The Judgment Day. Prior to the match, IYO SKY ran into the Kabuki Warriors. She apologized for what happened last week with Rhea Ripley to which Asuka said it was no big deal. Asuka and Kairi said they would take care of the Judgment Day issue as SKY asked if they wanted help. Kairi seemed for it but Asuka denied the help. SKY said she was going to keep away from Ripley.
The Kabuki Warriors kept to their promise and did win the match. The last moments had Sane hit the Insane Elbow on Rodriguez on the outside. This led Asuka to lock in the Asuka lock to cause Perez to tap out.
Later on, after Adam Pearce confirmed IYO SKY vs. Stephanie Vaquer for the Women’s World Title, Perez approached Pearce wanting to be added to the match. She said that she pinned SKY a few weeks ago and should be in the match. Pearce reminds her she just lost a tag team match.
Lyra Valkyria approached and got into it with Perez and Rodriguez. Once they left, Valkyria asked about Bayley. Pearce said she’ll be back soon but didn’t give any other information. Valkyria said she needs to get back into the ring and wants a match with Perez or Rodriguez.
Asuka continues to not want SKY to have any other friends. Nikki Bella hugged SKY and congratulated her of her upcoming match against Vaquer. SKY says that she hopes Nikki gets another shot at Becky. Asuka and Sane appeared and Asuka chased Nikki off. She told her that Nikki wasn’t her friend. Asuka feels that she and Sane can win the tag titles and SKY will become the new Women’s World Champion.
Later, Ripley appeared in a backstage interview. Asuka interrupted again and a match between the two seems to be happening soon.
