Bilal Coulibaly underwent surgery in New York City to repair a ligament tear in his right thumb. Coulibaly suffered the injury during EuroBasket playing for France.
Coulibaly is facing a probable six-week recovery time, which could force him to miss the start of the regular season as he begins his third NBA season.
Coulibaly was the seventh overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft out of France. Last season, Coulibaly averaged 12.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 33.0 minutes across 59 games for the Wizards.Â
