The Philadelphia Eagles won’t have Jalen Hurts leading the way for them.
They know their chances of clinching the NFC’s No. 1 seed are slim after their heartbreaking loss to the Washington Commanders.
Nevertheless, they won’t wave the white flag, especially not against the Dallas Cowboys.
With that in mind, we will most likely see a lot of Saquon Barkley on Sunday.
That leaves the door open for him to make history.
According to a report by Adam Schefter of ESPN, he only needs 162 rushing yards to become the ninth running back in NFL history to log at least 2,000 rushing yards in a single season.
The countdown: Eagles RB Saquon Barkley needs 162 yards today vs. the Cowboys to become the ninth RB in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards in a season.

He’s also 268 rushing yards away from breaking Eric Dickerson’s legendary all-time single-season rushing record.
The Eagles will want to keep Barkley safe for the playoffs, especially given his past struggles with injuries.
Then again, whenever there’s a chance to make history, you have to go for it.
Dickerson recently admitted that he didn’t want Barkley to break his record, also pointing out that he had an additional regular-season game to do so.
That only speaks volumes about how incredibly dominant he was back in the day.
Even so, it’s always nice to witness history, and people shouldn’t take anything away from Barkley.
He’s had some huge games against the Cowboys in the past, and while 162 rushing yards is a lot for one game, we know he’s more than capable of doing so.
